SSI appoints CEO born in 1988, marking a transition of the next generation of leaders

The Board of Directors of SSI Securities Joint Stock Company has just officially appointed Mr. Nguyen Duc Thong as General Director from July 21, 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thong was born in 1988, and worked for many years at international financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley before joining SSI 6 years ago. He also has an education foundation from the University of Cambridge (UK).

Speaking about this decision, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of SSI said that choosing Mr. Thong as CEO is a strategic decision to prepare for the new development phase of the company.

We believe that the combination of global awareness and understanding of the Vietnamese market will help the new CEO bring SSI into a breakthrough development stage. This is a strategic choice - and I am ready to directly accompany and support the General Director to excellently complete the task, Mr. Hung emphasized.

According to SSI Chairman, the appointment of a new General Director demonstrates the company's long-term orientation in transferring the leadership generation, building a team with sufficient capacity to adapt to the context of the digital financial market, increasingly competitive and increasingly deep integration.

Since the beginning of the year, SSI has continuously implemented innovation strategies in technology, products and expanded international cooperation to increase competitiveness. The appointment of a new CEO is part of a strategy to strengthen internal resources, preparing for strong growth steps in the coming time.

In the second quarter of 2025, SSI's total revenue reached VND 2,940 billion, pre-tax profit reached VND 1,144 billion. According to the consolidated estimate, the second quarter revenue reached VND3,030 billion and pre-tax profit was VND1,197 billion. After the first half of the year, the company completed about 54% of the annual revenue and profit plan.
