In the afternoon of April 9, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc and the working delegation visited the fields, inspected the production, harvesting and consumption situation in the Winter-Spring crop of 2025-2026, and aquaculture activities in My Thuan and Vinh Trach communes.
At the working session with Hiep Loi Agricultural Cooperative (My Thuan commune), Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc acknowledged the outstanding development of the Cooperative. Established in October 2018 with an initial scale of only about 10 members, to date the Cooperative has attracted more than 72 official members with an expanded cultivated area of 135 hectares.
In 2025, the Cooperative effectively implemented many services such as: Supply of rice seeds, agricultural materials, pumping, drones and especially brokerage to link product consumption with large partners. Total service revenue last year reached nearly 200 million VND, bringing profits and practical benefits to members.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc highly appreciated the role of cooperatives in implementing sustainable agricultural linkages, which is a key factor for agricultural development in the future. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee encouraged cooperatives to continue to expand their members to access technology and capital from state support programs. The Farmers' Association and the Department of Agriculture and Environment need to create maximum conditions for cooperatives and farmers to access preferential credit capital from programs.
Faced with the reality of high prices of agricultural materials and gasoline and oil, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc emphasized that the application of science and technology in the fields is an urgent solution. The Department of Industry and Trade closely monitors prices and especially the quality of agricultural materials, avoiding the situation of fake and poor quality goods causing damage to farmers. State agencies need to decisively intervene to support farmers at a time when production costs are increasing.
In particular, regarding consumption issues, cooperatives and localities need to pay attention to the legality of linkage contracts. Agreements between cooperatives, people and businesses must be transparent about responsibility to avoid the situation of "breaking deals" or price pressure when harvesting...

In addition, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc surveyed the linked farming model of Sao Mai Processing and Import-Export Joint Stock Company and Multinational Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (IDI).
According to reports, IDI Company is currently deploying a linked pangasius farming area with a total area of about 200 hectares in the Mekong Delta region, of which An Giang province alone accounts for about 90 hectares (equivalent to 45% of the total area). The output of raw pangasius from linked activities reaches about 60,000 tons/year, meeting about 70% of the input demand for the unit's processing plants. This model not only ensures a stable supply for businesses but also helps farmers access modern techniques and production processes.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc expressed his excitement when seeing that the fish output was quite good and predicted that it would bring positive profits to farmers. At the same time, he hoped that the link between farming households and companies would become increasingly sustainable, bringing better profits in the coming seasons.
To support the sustainable development of the seafood industry, the business has also proposed to the Provincial People's Committee to consider supporting the planning of concentrated farming areas, creating conditions to build a high-tech pangasius seed production center and supporting access to preferential credit capital sources.
