In Tan Chau ward (election unit No. 2) of An Giang province, voters were introduced to a summary biography and action program of 5 candidates.

On March 2nd, in Tan Chau ward, An Giang province, Mr. Luong Quoc Doan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central mass organizations; Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and candidates of the 16th National Assembly had the first meeting with voters to exercise their right to campaign for elections.

In Tan Chau ward, electoral unit No. 2 of An Giang province, voters were introduced to a summary biography and action program of 5 candidates, including: Mr. Luong Quoc Doan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Central Committee; Mr. Trinh Lam Sinh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Chau Doc ward; Mr. Nguyen Duy Bang - Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Youth Union; Mr. Bui Thanh Hong - Vice Principal of Vinh Thang Secondary & High School; Mr. Nguyen Nhut Thang - Deputy Head of the Culture and Social Department of Chau Doc ward.

Presenting at the conference, Mr. Luong Quoc Doan expressed his honor to be introduced by the Politburo, by the Central Vietnam Farmers' Union, to be included in the list of re-candidates by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front through negotiations, to be assigned by the Election Council to run for election in An Giang, and to be assigned by the Provincial Election Commission to run for election in constituency No. 2.

As a re-election candidate, Mr. Luong Quoc Doan frankly expressed the core issues that the people of An Giang are concerned about. If trusted to be re-elected as a National Assembly Deputy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, 16th term, Mr. Doan is committed to sticking with voters, listening to opinions, recommendations, proposals, thoughts, feelings, aspirations, difficulties, and grievances of voters and truthfully reflecting to the National Assembly. Proactively exchange with ministries, branches, and relevant levels to propose, recommend, promote resolution, and respond to voters' recommendations.

Fully and responsibly perform the responsibilities of National Assembly deputies in law-making, supervising the activities of State agencies; in deciding on important issues of the country, especially issues related to agriculture, rural areas, and the legitimate rights and interests of farmers. Do a good job of representing the farmer class in supervision and social criticism; promote the subjective role of farmers in building new rural areas, building the country and participating in Party building and State building; fighting against corruption, wastefulness, and negativity.

Strengthen going to the grassroots level, maintain close and intimate contact with voters and Party committees and authorities in localities. Grasp the current situation of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas, and irrationalities in some policies on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas to propose to the Party, National Assembly, and Government to have mechanisms and policies to strengthen support for farmers, invest in agricultural and rural development in a practical and effective way, helping farmers promote production, consume agricultural products, increase income, and improve living standards.

In my position, I will advise and propose to promote agricultural and rural economic development, ensure social security in rural areas; participate in and propose to issue guidelines and policies that are close to and suitable to socio-economic conditions, especially guidelines and policies on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas," Mr. Doan emphasized.

After listening to the information, voters highly appreciate the candidates for the 16th National Assembly. In particular, the fact that a leader at the head of the Vietnam Farmers' Union directly ran for election in a locality with agricultural traditions like An Giang brings great confidence that agricultural and rural policies will be reflected most closely in the National Assembly hall.
