On September 7, the Da Nang City Department of Finance announced that it had just received a dossier requesting investment policy approval and investor approval for the Large-scale concentrated Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Material Growing Project - applying high technology in Tra Linh and Tra Tap communes.
The project is proposed by Truong Hai Agriculture Joint Stock Company (THACO AGRI), with a scale of about 1,206ha, operating term of 50 years.
The goal is to form a concentrated and large-scale area for producing and processing Ngoc Linh ginseng and medicinal herbs. The project aims to invest in synchronous common infrastructure, connecting from production to processing, serving inter-provincial and inter-regional markets.
The focus of the project is planting, preserving gene sources and developing Ngoc Linh ginseng according to industrial methods, in greenhouses and under the forest canopy. Along with that is the development of medicinal plants with high economic value, suitable for ecological conditions in the area.
THACO AGRI plans to deploy research, production, sowing, tissue culture, and grafting of Ngoc Linh ginseng and medicinal herbs. The project also develops shade-creating forestry trees, serving the model of growing medicinal herbs under the forest canopy.
According to the proposed plan, Sterculia lychnophora trees are chosen to create canopies. Under the canopy of forestry trees, livestock farming will be combined in an integrated, circular and multi-purpose land use direction. Two proposed models include deer farming and honeybee farming.
In the processing stage, the project plans to pre-process, preserve, and refine Ngoc Linh ginseng and medicinal materials. At the same time, it produces substrates, organic fertilizers, and microbial fertilizers for production.
The project also includes the business of seedlings, breeds, agricultural products, pharmaceuticals and livestock products.
The form of investor selection is to approve the investment policy and at the same time approve the investor, without auctioning land use rights and bidding to select investors.
