The Ministry of Finance affirmed that it will strongly reform tax and customs policies to remove difficulties and create conditions for businesses to recover and develop sustainably.

On December 10, the Ministry of Finance coordinated with VCCI to organize a dialogue conference on tax and customs policies in 2024, attracting the participation of 530 businesses in the Northern region.

Support 191 trillion VND for businesses

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Finance Cao Anh Tuan said that in the 2021-2024 period, solutions to exempt, reduce, and extend taxes, fees, and land rents have supported businesses and people with a scale of up to 191 trillion VND.

The amount of tax and land rent extended is 95 trillion VND, while tax, fee and charge exemptions and reductions amount to 96 trillion VND. These policies are highly appreciated, helping businesses overcome difficulties, maintain production and business, and contribute positively to the economy.

Modernize to accompany businesses

The Deputy Minister of Finance said that the electronic tax declaration system has been strongly implemented, with 99.93% of enterprises declaring taxes online and 98.57% using the electronic tax payment service. The value-added tax (VAT) refund system also reached 97% via electronic means, saving time and costs for enterprises.

In the customs sector, more than 99% of procedures are carried out through the VNACCS/VCIS automatic customs clearance system, helping to reduce document processing time and facilitate import and export activities.

The Ministry of Finance is committed to continuing to improve the tax system according to the Tax System Reform Strategy until 2030, ensuring transparency, fairness and sustainability. New regulations, including the amended Law on Value Added Tax and the amended Law on Tax Administration, will be implemented in the coming time to create a more favorable business environment.

Mr. Pham Tan Cong - Chairman of VCCI - emphasized: "The Ministry of Finance not only supports businesses to overcome difficulties but also pioneers in administrative reform and digital transformation. This is an important driving force to help businesses recover and make a breakthrough".

Since 2023, VCCI and the Ministry of Finance have coordinated to resolve more than 450 business recommendations, contributing to improving policies and procedures, and increasing confidence in the business environment.

This conference is not only an opportunity to remove difficulties but also affirm the companion of the Ministry of Finance with the business community, towards the goal of sustainable development and international integration.
