Approaching March 8, the fresh flower and gift market in Ho Chi Minh City began to become bustling as shopping demand gradually increased. Recorded at some flower shops on central streets and Ho Thi Ky flower market area, many types of flowers such as roses, tulips, sunflowers... are displayed richly with prices ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of VND per bouquet.
Not only fresh flowers, gift products such as chocolate, teddy bears, cosmetics or gift baskets are also being promoted by many stores to serve the needs of International Women's Day.
According to Ms. Thu Trang - owner of a flower shop at Ho Thi Ky flower market, the number of customers asking and ordering flowers has increased in recent days, especially in the evening. "Compared to normal days, the number of flower orders has increased by about 30-40%. Customers mainly choose roses, tulips and pre-designed bouquets to give to relatives or colleagues" - Ms. Trang said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Minh Thao (resident of Vuon Lai ward), shared that every year he buys flowers to give to his wife on March 8th. "This year I chose a bouquet of roses with prepared gifts to create a surprise. The price of flowers is slightly higher than usual but still acceptable because this is a special occasion" - Mr. Thao said.
Seasonal occasions such as International Women's Day March 8 are becoming an opportunity for many retail systems to implement consumer stimulus programs, while introducing gift and personal care products suitable for customer needs.
At Co.opmart supermarket system, the March 8th promotion program is implemented until March 11th with many discounted items in cosmetics, fashion, food and essential consumer goods groups.

Some personal care products such as shampoo, shower gel, skin care cosmetics, perfumes... are discounted up to about 40%, along with pre-designed gift sets for customers to easily choose as gifts. In addition, on March 7 and 8, each supermarket belonging to the Saigon Co.op system also gives gifts to female member customers with shopping bills from 1.1 million VND or more.
Meanwhile, the GO! supermarket system also launched a promotion program lasting until March 11 with hundreds of personal care and beauty products discounted up to 49%, mainly focusing on items such as shower gel, shampoo, skin care cosmetics and personal hygiene products. In addition to direct discounts, the supermarket also applies the form of selling at the same price and many pre-packaged gift sets, helping consumers conveniently choose gifts on March 8.
