The event was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, within the framework of a Thai Prime Minister's first official visit to Vietnam in more than a decade.
According to the agreement, Vietjet will transfer 50 Boeing 737 aircraft to Vietjet Thailand under the contract to purchase 200 aircraft signed between Vietjet and Boeing.
The first aircraft will be handed over in October 2025, helping Vietjet Thailand strongly expand its domestic and international flight network, especially connecting destinations between Vietnam and Thailand.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of Vietjet Group, spoke at the event: The transfer of 50 modern and efficient Boeing 737-8 aircraft to Vietjet Thailand is Vietjet's long-term commitment to the sustainable development of the regional aviation industry. We will take action to implement the "Three Connections" strategy between the two countries - including connecting supply chains, businesses and localities".
In addition, Boeing also provides a comprehensive technical service support package for Vietjet Thailand, including training for pilots, engineers, maintenance and product services, to ensure the new fleet is put into safe and efficient operation in the Thai market.
The new cooperation agreement marks a new step forward in the extensive and effective cooperation between Vietnamese - Thai - US businesses, with a common priority for digital transformation, sustainable development and narrowing the development gap between countries.
