As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the evening of May 26, at the subsidence point on National Highway 3B through Hiep Luc village, Kim Lu commune (Na Ri, Bac Kan), a motorbike driver fell down a barrier, suspected of falling into a deep hole.
As soon as they received the news, the authorities were present at the scene and organized a search, but so far the victim's whereabouts have not been found.

On May 27, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter noted that at the scene, the sinkhole was located right next to the edge of National Highway 3B.
Hundreds of local people gathered around the scene to monitor the search.
The authorities used anchor ropes and specialized camera equipment to search for the bottom of the hole. However, due to deep holes, cloudy water and foam, there are many caves below, making observation very difficult.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Truong Quang Trong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Kim Lu commune (Na Ri) said that the rescue forces are still actively implementing plans to approach deeper into the hole to verify the victim's location.
On the side of Na Ri district, it has proactively informed the road management unit under the Department of Construction to report to the province to consider supporting specialized forces for search and rescue.
At the same time, they directed the fence, sent functional forces to protect the area where the incident occurred and continued search and rescue plans.
