In Hanh Phuc commune, heavy rain caused landslides on the positive slope in 5 houses. On the morning of August 26, the leaders of Hanh Phuc commune urgently mobilized forces to support people to evacuate from the landslide risk area. At the same time, deploy forces to inspect and review residential areas along rivers, streams, low-lying areas, high risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides to proactively relocate and evacuate people to safe places.
Meanwhile, heavy rain also caused water levels on streams to rise, causing local flooding in some spillways and roads in Mu village, Phinh Ho commune.
"We are currently increasing the number of on-duty forces and supporting people in areas affected by floods," said Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Phinh Ho commune.



On the evening of August 25, in Muong Lai and Luc Yen communes, Lao Cai province, thunderstorms and strong whirlwinds also occurred, causing many large trees to break and fall into the medium-voltage power line managed by the Luc Yen Electricity Management Team, under Lao Cai Electricity Company. The incident caused some sections of the wire to break, the poles to tilted, causing local power outages in some areas.
National Highway 70 through Yen Binh and Bao Ai communes has many deeply flooded spots, some areas are dangerously eroded, limiting people and vehicles.
National Highway 32, the section passing through Khau Pha Pass, Tu Le Commune, has many landslides, strong water flows, and does not ensure traffic safety.
Some Provincial Roads 173, 166, 163 have many landslides and fallen trees, which need to be noted when traveling.

According to a quick report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lao Cai province, heavy rain in the area injured 1 person and damaged more than 700 houses. Thousands of hectares of agricultural land and crop growing areas of the people were affected.
In order to proactively take measures to prevent and combat floods, Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee issued an urgent document directing the entire political system to focus on preventing, combating and responding to storm No. 5 (KAJIKI).
The Standing Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee requested Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the Central's direction; implement the "4 on-site" motto, ensure the safety of people's lives and property and the State.
