Regarding the case of Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (name has been changed, residing in Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province) suing Hue Lottery Company Limited to pay a prize of 2 billion VND, Huong Thuy Town People's Court (Hue City) is handling the case.
In addition, the revenue situation of Hue Lottery Company is receiving public attention.
According to the report of Hue Lottery One Member Co., Ltd., the total revenue from business activities in 2024 (estimated) is 530,912 billion VND; reaching 100.20% over the same period, reaching 99.20% of the yearly plan (2024 plan: 535,183 billion VND).
Of which, revenue from lottery ticket sales reached VND 529,576 billion, reaching 100.35% over the same period; reaching 99.36% of the yearly plan (2024 plan: VND 532,983 billion).
Profit of VND 27,122 billion, reaching 89.07% over the same period, reaching 85.06% of the yearly plan (2024 plan is VND 31,886 billion). Total bonus payment is VND 253,238 billion, (47.94%).
Thus, in 2024, Hue Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. will achieve revenue of nearly 530 billion VND, pay the budget more than 142 billion VND and have a profit of more than 27 billion VND.
Mr. Le Trung Phuoc - Director of Hue Lottery Company Limited said that the company operates in 14 provinces and cities in the Central and Central Highlands regions. Lottery tickets are issued every Monday and Sunday. Sunday lottery tickets are used to mobilize resources for the restoration and preservation of Hue Monuments.
Notably, each time the lottery ticket issue is issued, the company prints 3 million lottery tickets, but only 30% are sold, the remaining 70% must be recalled and destroyed according to regulations.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on October 14, 2024, Ms. Nga in Quang Nam bought 2 lottery tickets issued by Hue Lottery Company Limited. In the drawing on the same day, the lottery ticket with the winning number 486552 (F) won the special consolation prize. Despite being torn, Ms. Nga was still paid 50 million VND.
However, lottery ticket 386552 (F) won the special prize of 2 billion VND and was not paid because the ticket was torn in the lower right corner, although the appraisal results of Hue City Police confirmed that this was a real lottery ticket and the numbers were not erased.
On December 10, Ms. Nga filed a lawsuit against Hue Lottery Company Limited at the People's Court of Huong Thuy Town, requesting payment of the prize money for the lottery ticket that won the special prize. The case is currently being handled by the People's Court of Huong Thuy Town (Hue City).
A representative of Hue Lottery Company Limited confirmed that although the company wants to pay the prize, it cannot do so because it must comply with regulations. The case is currently being handled by the People's Court of Huong Thuy Town. After the court's conclusion, the company will implement the details. In case the court declares the customer a winner, the company will not appeal.
