Da Nang - Many traders at Hoa Cuong wholesale market have encountered difficulties in recent times, some businesses have had to close their stalls due to sluggish business.

According to Lao Dong reporter, located in the center of Da Nang city, Hoa Cuong wholesale market is the largest agricultural product trading center in the Central region. Notably, in the past, many stalls in the market have also been closed, and traders have encountered difficulties due to the sluggish business situation.

Ms. Phan Thi Phuoc (trading at Hoa Cuong wholesale market) - said that since the COVID-19 pandemic, the market has become increasingly deserted, many wholesale and retail agricultural stalls have also closed, with no shoppers.

Many traders like Ms. Phuoc also try to stay and earn income through the day. Due to weak purchasing power in the market, many traders have moved to the streets to do business.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (character's name has been changed, vegetable and fruit sellers in Hoa Cuong wholesale market) - information, wholesale market traders have to pay many types of taxes and fees every month, while purchasing power is decreasing.

"Not only me but most of the traders in the market have encountered difficulties in recent years. After the COVID-19 pandemic, we have gradually lost our stores because many shops have closed, while there are currently many carts and trucks on the road specializing in wholesale cheap agricultural products" - Ms. Nga said.

Talking with Lao Dong, a representative of the Hoa Cuong wholesale market management board (Da Nang) - informed that the total area of the wholesale market is about 20,000m2, the number of traders is quite large, fixed at the market is about more than 400 traders. There is a plan to relocate the market but there is currently no specific policy.

According to Lao Dong reporters, Hoa Cuong wholesale market is the largest agricultural market in the Central region, supplying hundreds of tons of vegetables and fruits every day to Da Nang city and neighboring areas.

The Hoa Phuoc wholesale market project (Da Nang) with an area of over 30 hectares and a total investment of over VND 272 billion, after completion, will replace Hoa Cuong wholesale market, becoming the largest concentrated agricultural wholesale, wholesale and retail market in the Central - Central Highlands region.

Recently, the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Civil, Industrial and Infrastructure of Da Nang City has approved the results of online contractor selection for the construction package of works under the plan to select contractors for technical infrastructure projects, site clearance, support and resettlement of Hoa Phuoc wholesale market.

Accordingly, the package is worth more than 45 billion VND, including the cost of building a drainage line, solutions to handle weak soil reinforcement, a 150m long road and arising costs, related taxes and fees. The selection method is open domestic bidding via the network, with a implementation period of 240 days.
