According to information from the Department of Industry and Trade of Dong Nai province, two gas stations at Km 41+100 rest stop (left and right routes) of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway are currently temporarily suspended. This disruption may affect the fuel supply capacity of vehicles circulating on the route, especially during the peak period of travel and freight transport. Faced with the risk of local shortages, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City has proactively coordinated and issued directives to maintain continuous supply, serving the needs of people and businesses.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade said that it has received document No. 1208/SCT-QLTM dated February 11, 2026 of the Dong Nai Provincial Department of Industry and Trade on requesting coordination and support to organize additional gasoline and oil supply for the expressway area. On that basis, Ho Chi Minh City requests relevant units to strengthen responsibility, proactively plan to regulate output, and prevent sales interruptions due to lack of sources.
For key traders and gasoline and oil distribution traders, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade proposed to proactively source goods and regulate output to promptly support retail stores in adjacent areas and vicinity to the expressway. Units need to create favorable conditions for transportation and delivery to supplement output when there are requests for support from the retail system; at the same time, strengthen the supervision of the operation of agents and stores under management.
During peak hours, businesses are required to proactively plan "increase trips - increase tanks - increase output", ensuring to meet increased fuel demand. This is considered an important solution to maintain stable sales operations, avoiding the risk of localized fuel shortages when vehicle traffic increases.
For gasoline and oil retail stores near connecting routes and access roads up and down the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade proposed to maintain stable sales, arrange reasonable personnel and shifts. Sales points are encouraged to extend service hours, prioritizing 24/24 operation if conditions permit, in order to better meet the fuel supply needs of people and transport businesses.
Stores also need to proactively reserve appropriate tank inventory, regularly monitor consumption situation and immediately report to suppliers when there is a risk of shortage of goods for timely regulation. At the same time, on-site information work is required to be fully implemented, hanging or arranging identification boards with the content "fuel supply points serving the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway", helping vehicles easily recognize.
In order to facilitate people and businesses to proactively plan fuel supply, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade also requested units to provide a list of some gasoline and oil retail points in Ho Chi Minh City near connecting routes and access roads to and from expressways. This list contributes to limiting the passive situation when points of sale at rest stops temporarily stop operating.
Faced with the actual developments, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade recommends that transport businesses and people proactively plan to refuel appropriately before traveling on the expressway, avoiding risks arising due to fuel shortages during the journey. The Department emphasized the requirement for traders and retail stores to seriously implement and coordinate to regulate the source of goods, not to let local shortages occur.
