On November 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department said it had discovered 5,000 prepackaged food products and 150 kg of sticky candy of unknown origin.

Market Management Team No. 11 (Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department) strengthens inspections of food safety violations in the area. The team inspected a business establishment in Binh Tri Dong ward and discovered 150 kg of sticky candy without labels, unknown origins, without showing production date - expiration date, no invoices and documents, no food safety declaration documents. The batch of goods is still fully packaged, with a listed value of 9.3 million VND.

Previously, the Team also inspected a food business establishment in An Lac ward and discovered 5,137 units of prepackaged food products. Products with foreign language labels but no Vietnamese sub-labels, no showing of origin, no production date - expiration date, unknown weight, no accompanying quality documents. The total value of the violated goods was 28.78 million VND.

Because all the goods were of unknown origin, without quality information, no invoices and documents and no food safety declaration documents, Market Management Team No. 11 temporarily seized all the exhibits, proposed handling administrative violations and forced destruction according to regulations.

In the last months of 2025, the food market has become complicated. In addition to many establishments complying with food safety regulations, there are still some establishments that, for profit, launch products on the market that do not ensure quality, have unknown origins, and pose a potential risk to the health of consumers. The authorities continue to strengthen inspection and supervision to promptly detect and prevent substandard goods.

At the same time, the functional sector also recommends that people choose products with clear labels and transparent origins, prioritizing purchasing at reputable distribution systems to protect health, while contributing to limiting the circulation of dirty food on the market.
