After about 10 months of urgent construction, Petrovietnam - Phong Tho Primary and Secondary Boarding School (TH & THCS) has completed all items, from classrooms, dormitories, dining rooms to living spaces, ready to welcome students into the new school year.
This is especially the first project among inter-level boarding schools in border communes of Lai Chau province to complete all items ahead of schedule, ready to welcome students into the new school year.
In the early days of September, the atmosphere of preparation for the new school year at the school on the border of Lai Chau is taking place extremely urgently. Everything is ready to welcome students and organize the opening ceremony of the 2026-2027 school year on the morning of September 5.

From a busy construction site in the Northwest mountains and forests, the new school has now appeared spacious and synchronous. Bright classrooms, dormitories and multi-purpose buildings create a modern educational space, opening up better learning and living conditions for children of ethnic minorities in border areas.
Petrovietnam - Phong Tho Primary & Secondary Boarding School is built on an area of about 6.15 hectares, with a total investment of 280 billion VND. Of which, Vietnam National Industries and Energy Group (Petrovietnam) sponsored 245 billion VND.
The project is invested relatively synchronously, including the administration building, subject classroom blocks, dormitory, dining hall, multi-purpose building and equipment system serving teaching, learning, and training. According to the design, the school has a scale of 30 classes, including 14 primary and 16 secondary schools, with a total of more than 1,000 students.

To ensure the project is completed before the new school year, the construction unit has mobilized maximum manpower and vehicles, and organized continuous work according to the "3 shifts, 4 crews" plan. By the end of August, the main items of the project have been basically completed, meeting the conditions to serve teaching, learning and student activities.
Along with completing facilities, the school and local authorities have focused on preparing a team of management officials, teachers, and staff; developing plans for organizing classes, managing boarding students, ensuring accommodation, health care, security, and school safety.
The school has organized to welcome students for the 2026-2027 school year, helping them gradually get acquainted with the new learning and living environment. For a multi-level boarding school, readiness is not only measured by the number of classrooms or new sets of tables and chairs. It is also the synchronous operation of the boarding area, dining hall, library, subject classroom, playground; it is a plan for managing living, taking care of health and ensuring safety for students throughout the time they study away from home.
According to the plan, on the morning of September 5, Lai Chau province will simultaneously organize the opening ceremony of the 2026-2027 school year and inaugurate 5 primary and secondary boarding schools in border communes. Pa Tan Primary & Secondary Boarding School is selected as the main bridge point of the province; Petrovietnam - Phong Tho Primary & Secondary Boarding School connects online with the common program.
Putting Petrovietnam - Phong Tho Primary & Secondary Boarding School into operation is of special significance for a mountainous, border area, where population is dispersed, many villages are far from the center and travel conditions are still difficult.

The centralized learning and living model will help students reduce journeys across mountains and forests to class; and at the same time have access to a safer, more synchronous and fuller educational environment.
This project is a strong mark in Petrovietnam's journey to accompany localities in taking care of social security and education development. Along with the mission of ensuring national energy security, the Group always identifies investing in education as investing in the future, contributing to fostering human resources and opening up sustainable development opportunities for children in disadvantaged areas.
When the opening drum sounds in the Phong Tho mountains and forests, the school named Petrovietnam will officially enter a new journey. Believe that this is not only a spacious educational project but also a knowledge base, wing the dreams of students in border areas to reach far...
