Belief in internal strength and aspiration for E-Vietnam
In recent days, the event of the Government sending each citizen 100,000 VND on the occasion of National Day 2.9 via the VNeID application has created a strong spread. This is considered a "push" to bring tens of millions of people into the national digital ecosystem, where personal identification is authenticated and all transactions become transparent and fast.
On September 9 in Hanoi, cafeF Economic Financial Information channel (VCCORP Joint Stock Company) held a seminar on "Opportunities to rise from digital transformation: Pioneering story from VNeID application and the banking and finance industry".
Sharing at the Seminar, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Dinh Thien - an economic expert - said that Vietnam has a good foundation to rise. He said: "Up to now, I believe that Vietnam has all the capacity and is opening up opportunities to achieve great things, even more".
According to him, this ability originates from historical traditions and the internal strength of the nation, but has not been properly exploited. The capacity to handle the most serious problems of national fate in Vietnam is available, available but not exploited yet.
He emphasized that the country has created development opportunities three times, since the liberation, when it began to open up and now with digital transformation. Currently, Vietnam has a spirit and confidence to solve the problem. With a market economy and a knowledge economy, I believe that Vietnam will certainly develop strongly".
He also noted that digital transformation is only successful when it is associated with the real needs of people and businesses, while the State must play the role of " stewards", creating conditions and protecting the game for the whole society.
Banks are the pioneer force
From a consulting perspective, Mr. Hoang Trung Hai - Deputy General Director, Consultant, Banking and Financial Services, EY Vietnam Consulting Joint Stock Company - affirmed: E-Vietnam must be understood as digital government, digital society, digital economy. This change must come from the national level, with people and businesses as the center".
He said that VNeID is an important platform, creating a unified and transparent database to serve management, combat negativity and expand financial services.
He cited Resolution 23, when the Government gave each citizen VND 100,000 via VNeID on September 2. "Immediately after the announcement, I personally and many people around me received money into our accounts very quickly. This shows that a platform application can spread strongly, bringing benefits to people, businesses and the Government".
Mr. Hai emphasized that the characteristics of the finance and banking sector have made the digital transformation process faster than other sectors: The banking industry sees technology as a vital factor for development. Thanks to early investment, the whole industry has now been successful and continues to pioneer"
Representing the banking perspective, Mr. Nguyen Hung - General Director of TPBank - affirmed: "E-Vietnam can absolutely become a reality, not in a distant future but in this decade".
He said that connecting VNeID with the population database has helped the bank authenticate customer records "nearly 100% trustworthy", significantly reducing the situation of forgery and fraud.
Mr. Hung recounted TPBank's restructuring journey from a small bank at the bottom of the rankings to the leading group thanks to choosing the digital path: Right from the restructuring, we have identified the only way to expand our customer network as the digital channel. Thanks to that, although the number of physical branches is not large, TPBank still attracts a large number of customers to open accounts and currently up to 98% of transactions are conducted on digital channels".
He also emphasized the importance of meeting the practical needs of the people: "If we do half-heartedly, we will fail. Small, practical daily needs when met through digital channels will gradually form a habit.
Within the framework of the event, the Ceremony to Honore the Largest Budget-Covered Enterprises in Vietnam in 2025 organized by cafeF (VCCORP Joint Stock Company) in Hanoi on September 9 announced two rankings: VNTAX 200 for enterprises with a payment level of VND 200 billion or more and PRIVATE 100 exclusively for private enterprises with a payment level of VND 100 billion or more.
