This morning, September 5, at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Muong Luan commune, Dien Bien province (headquarters of the old Chieng So commune), more than 500 students of Chieng So Ethnic Boarding - Secondary School (PTDTBT) and Chieng So Kindergarten had a special and complete opening ceremony in joy and glory.

The opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year was held for the first time in 34 provinces and cities and connected nationwide online, from kindergarten to university. This is also the occasion to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Temporarily forgetting the chaos after the flood, students of Chieng So Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities in new uniforms, holding flags and flowers, eagerly attended the opening ceremony. The radiant smile of hundreds of other students dispelled the gloomy atmosphere of the previous post-flood days.

Having just received the new books in hand, Vu Thi Ngoc Si (class 9A3, Chieng So Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities) said: "I was very happy to go to the opening ceremony and meet my teachers and friends again. Although the classroom is damaged, I will try to study well this school year".
According to Mr. Nguyen Danh Hy - Principal of Chieng So Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, to ensure the opening day is still complete and safe for the students, the local government and the school's Board of Directors held an opening ceremony at the headquarters of Muong Luan Commune People's Committee (old Chieng So Commune headquarters).

According to Mr. Nguyen Danh Hy, because 6 2-storey classrooms are located close to the foot of the hill with large cracks, to ensure absolute safety for students, the classrooms have had to be relocated.
Accordingly, the school has moved the classes to the headquarters of Muong Luan commune (old Chieng So commune headquarters). The local government also quickly repaired the cultural house, gymnasium, hall, and office of the Commune People's Committee into 6 classrooms.

To prepare for the new school year, teachers have made many times more efforts. Not only did the teachers arrange a place to eat and live for the students, they also cleaned and decorated the opening ceremony to be more solemn and meaningful.
"Although they have just experienced many difficulties due to floods, the presence of many students and their enthusiasm is a great encouragement for teachers and students of the school to firmly enter the new school year," said the Principal of Chieng So Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.

Previously, as Lao Dong reported, Chieng So Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities was flooded, causing heavy damage (August 1). Almost all facilities and teaching and learning equipment were completely damaged. After the flood passed, the school had another crack about 20cm wide and up to 50m long, posing a potential risk of landslides.
