Vietcombank expands Apple Pay to JCB cardholders, enhances digital payment experience

Thuận Hiền |

Vietcombank JCB cardholders can now pay quickly and securely via Apple Pay on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac with attractive refund incentives.

Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) officially introduces Apple Pay to international cardholders Vietcombank JCB in Vietnam. Apple Pay is an easy, safe and private payment method when paying in-store, in-app and online.

To pay at the store, customers just need to double the side button, authenticate and keep the iPhone or Apple Watch near the reader (with a contactless icon) of the card payment acceptance device to make contactless payments. Each Apple Pay transaction is secured with Face ID, Touch ID or device password, along with a single-use dynamic security code. Apple Pay is widely accepted at convenience stores, pharmacies, restaurants, coffee shops, retail stores, taxis and many other locations.

Ms. Doan Hong Nhung - Director of Vietcombank Retail - shared: Vietcombank officially continues to expand Apple Pay to international cardholders JCB, affirming our commitment to promoting the digitalization of banking operations, while providing customers with a modern, flexible and secure payment experience. As one of the first banks in Vietnam to offer Apple Pay for both international and domestic cards - including Visa, JCB and Napas cards - we will continue to expand and integrate other card brands to fully meet customer needs.

Security and privacy are the core of Apple Pay. When customers use a JCB international card with Apple Pay, the real card number is not stored on the device, nor is it on the Apple server. Instead, the only device accounts are assigned, encrypted and stored securely in secure element - a chip certified to industry standards to store payment information securely on the device.

Apple Pay is easy to install. On iPhone, customers can add Vietcombank JCB international card to Apple Pay directly on the VCB Digibank application homepage when clicking on the Apple Pay icon; or open the Wallet application, click "+" and follow the instructions to add the card. After adding the card to iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac, customers can immediately use Apple Pay on that device.

When using Vietcombank JCB cards with Apple Pay, in addition to special incentives for Apple Pay (a fee of 650K when adding Vietcombank JCB cards and spending Apple Pay), customers can still enjoy full incentives for Vietcombank JCB cards such as: up to 30% discount at more than 100 restaurants in Vietnam...
