On June 5, the Vietnam Rice Industry Association (VIETRISA) in collaboration with Trung An High-Tech Agricultural Joint Stock Company organized the first "Low-emission Green Vietnamese Rice" export ceremony to Japan. The rice batch was exported by Trung An High-Tech Agricultural Joint Stock Company and with the cooperation of MURASE Group (Japan) with a quantity of 500 tons.
This is an event marking the rice product from the Project "Sustainable development of one million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta (MD) by 2030" (abbreviated as the 1 million ha Project) with the brand "Low-emission green Vietnamese rice" being put on the export market.
At the ceremony, Mr. Tran Thanh Nam - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment (MARD) - acknowledged the efforts of farmers, cooperatives, businesses and agricultural officials in localities, to get rice lots for export today. At the same time, the export of Vietnam's first reduction rice lots to Japanese consumers has a great significance, opening a long -term direction for the Vietnamese rice industry to develop to the world market.
This is an opportunity for the Mekong Delta to orient rice production methods to the new period, overcome the problem of falling prices, and create quality, branded rice, the Deputy Minister emphasized.

Mr. Pham Thai Binh - Chairman of the Board of Directors, Deputy General Director of Trung An High-Tech Agricultural Joint Stock Company - informed that from 2020 to present, Trung An Company has cooperated with MURASE Group to grow high-quality rice, meeting Japanese standards. In the 2024-2025 period, the two sides will continue to upgrade cooperation and cultivation according to the criteria of the Project of 1 million hectares of high-quality rice with the aim of both improving rice quality and ensuring environmental friendliness.
Mr. Binh affirmed that in order to be able to export this batch of rice, businesses and farmers are required to cultivate in accordance with the 1 million ha Project. And the low-emission factor is just one of the 600 active ingredients required by Japan. If Vietnam's rice reduces emissions and enters the Japanese market, it will be easier to export to other countries.

As one of the first delegates to see the first low emission rice lot exported, Mr. Cao Duc Phat - former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) - said, right from the early days when Irri and Vietnam cooperated to research on low emissions techniques within the framework of the project 1 million hectares, he believes that Vietnam's agriculture not only needs to produce a lot, but also clean and sustainable. It is important to put farmers in the center of all policies and technology.
With the first batch of low-emission rice exported today, farmers not only have increased their income, but are also proud to contribute to protecting the global environment. They are not only food producers but also green soldiers in the fight against climate change.
