Gold price today 10/16: Steady at the top, gold continues to increase

Gold prices today, October 16, continued to stand firm above the 14,300 USD/ounce mark. Experts predict that gold prices will continue to increase to 1,310 USD/ounce this week.

Opening this morning's trading session (October 16), DOJI Group listed the price of SJC gold at 36.55-36.63 million VND/tael, down 10,000 VND for buying and down 80,000 VND for selling compared to yesterday's trading session.

Gold price today at Bao Tin Minh Chau is listed at 36.58-36.64 million VND/tael, down 30 thousand VND for buying and down 40 thousand VND for selling compared to the same time yesterday. Gold price of smooth round Quotation Dragon Gold Thang Long is trading at: 35.77-36.22 million VND/tael (buy in - sell out), an increase of 50 thousand VND in both directions compared to the previous trading session.

At Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ), the price of SJC gold bars was listed in Hanoi at 36.59-36.67 million VND/tael (buy in - sell out), down 20 thousand VND in both directions compared to the same time in yesterday's trading session.

The world gold price (spot gold) is currently listed at 1301.20 - 1302.20 USD/ounce (buy - sell).

9999 gold price for December delivery on the New York Comex is at 1304.10 USD/ounce.

The results of Kitco News' online survey on gold price trends next week showed that out of 740 readers participating in the vote, 448 people (61%) predicted gold would increase, while only 224 people (30%) said gold would decrease and 68 people (9%) chose gold to go sideways.

Kitco's survey of 17 market experts also gave quite similar results with 11 experts (65%) saying that gold will continue to increase, only 3 experts (18%) predicted that gold will decrease and 3 opinions were neutral.

I believe geopolitical tensions in Iran and North Korea will be the reason for pushing gold prices to 1,310 USD/ounce this week, said Richard Baker, editor of Eureka Miner Report.

Mr. Adrian Day - Chairman and CEO of Adrian Day Asset Management commented that gold prices will continue to increase today, but the reason is that "the Federal Reserve will be very cautious when tightening".

On the foreign exchange market, the central exchange rate announced by the State Bank on the morning of October 16 was 22,451 VND/USD, down 2 VND compared to the previous session. Vietcombank's USD exchange rate today is listed at 22,680 - 22,750 VND/USD (buy - sell), down 5 VND in both directions compared to the previous trading session.
