Gold price today, August 24: USD decreases, gold breaks out and goes up

    Gold prices today, August 24, opened the domestic trading session with a sharp increase after the previous trading session decreased sharply. Gold prices increased in the context of a weaker US dollar compared to other major currencies and a slight decrease in stocks.

    Opening this morning's trading session (8.24), DOJI Group listed the price of SJC gold at 36.31 - 36.39 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 20 thousand VND in both directions compared to the same time in yesterday's trading session.

    SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau is listed at 36.32- 36.38 million VND/tael, an increase of 40 thousand VND for buying and 20 thousand VND for selling compared to yesterday. Price of plain round gold rings Dragon Thang Long gold is trading at: 35.01- 35.46 million VND/tael (buy - sell), down 100,000 VND in both directions compared to the previous trading session.

    At Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ), the price of SJC gold bars was listed at 36.25 - 36.43 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 10,000 VND/tael in both directions compared to the same time yesterday.

    World gold price is currently listed at 1288.40 - 1289.40 USD/ounce

    9999 gold price for December delivery increased by 2.10 USD/ounce to 1293.10 USD/ounce.

    According to Kitco experts, the gold market in yesterday's trading session was quite quiet, partly due to investors in Europe and the US having a summer vacation with their families. Gold prices increased in the context of a weaker US dollar compared to other major currencies and a slight decrease in stocks.

    Investors are awaiting the comments of US Federal Reserve Chairwoman Ms. quan quan Yellen and European Central Bank President Mario Draghi at the annual meeting between central banks of countries in Jackson Hole, Wyoming (USA) taking place this Thursday. Experts will analyze the message issued at the workshop to know about the next move of central banks of countries on monetary easing policies.

    In the foreign exchange market, the central exchange rate announced by the State Bank on the morning of August 24 was 22,447 VND/USD, unchanged from the previous session. Vietcombank's USD exchange rate today is listed at 22,695 - 22,765 VND/USD (buy - sell), up 5 VND in both directions compared to the previous trading session.
