On January 26, the units handled 7,855 cases; imposed fines of VND23 billion 450 million; temporarily detained 74 cars, 2,618 motorbikes, 88 other vehicles; revoked 344 driving licenses of all types, and deducted driving license points in 818 cases.
Of these, the units handled 2,106 cases of alcohol concentration violations; 1,808 cases of speed violations.

Regarding traffic accidents, on January 26, there were 53 accidents nationwide, killing 25 people and injuring 47 people. Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 30 fewer accidents, 18 fewer deaths, and 20 fewer injuries.
According to the Traffic Safety Committee, on the second day of the Lunar New Year holiday, there were 03 calls and text messages from people to the hotline of the National Traffic Safety Committee, including complaints about carrying more passengers than the prescribed number... The calls were forwarded to the authorities for verification and timely handling.
The Traffic Police Department has directed local traffic police to strengthen traffic guidance and regulation. In particular, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City proactively coordinate with neighboring provinces to ensure smooth traffic on routes in and out of the city, especially routes from Hanoi to the southern provinces and from Ho Chi Minh City to the western provinces. Thanks to these efforts, despite the increase in traffic volume, traffic remains orderly, safe and without congestion.
