Causes of hidden acne
The main cause of hidden acne is hormones. The sebum glands on the skin become sensitive to hormonal changes and react by producing excess sebum. Oily skin combined with bacteria and dirt is tightly coated in pores, causing oil glands to swell. From there, a swollen spot forms under the skin's surface.
Another common cause of hidden acne is a malnutrient diet. Some food groups can cause inflammation in the body and affect the natural balance of the skin such as dairy products, sugary foods and refined starches.
Some ways to treat hidden acne at home
- Apply tea tree oil
Tea tree oil is very good for the skin, especially in the treatment of hidden acne. Apply tea tree oil to the acne area twice a day. For best results, you should use essential oils with a concentration of at least 5%. Use a cotton toothpick to apply the oil to the acne area and leave it overnight.
- Use a warm towel to apply to acne
For stiff underlying acne, use a clean towel dipped in warm water, peel it off and apply it directly to the acne. Temperature will help increase blood circulation to inflamed skin and reduce swelling. Press for about 10 to 15 minutes, at least 3 times a day and continue until the billion-dollar increase in the boil. Regular warm compresses will help push acne onto the skin's surface.
- Use pure honey
Use pure honey to treat hidden acne, because honey has natural antibacterial properties, helping to kill acne-causing bacteria without the need for topical medication. Just apply a small amount of honey to the acne area and leave it overnight.
