Fairy Winter
Although this is not the first time I have touched hands in the white snow season, the days in Rovaniemi, Lapland, Finland still leave unforgettable memories in the mind of travel blogger Dang Thuy Duong (born in 1989, Ho Chi Minh City).
I was impressed by the poetic scenery of seeing snow falling just through the window or the rows of white trees along both sides of the road, Santa Claus village with beautiful wooden houses like in fairy tales..., Ms. Duong could not help but feel moved when recalling her recent trip.
Having traveled through 35 countries and experienced many white snow seasons, the Vietnamese female tourist revealed that winter in Rovaniemi is somewhat "breathless" compared to when in Mongolia and Harbin, China. The snow season in Lapland usually lasts from November to the end of May every year.
Ms. Duong happily recounted: There was a day when the temperature dropped to -35 degrees Celsius. Local people here told me that it was the coldest day of the year in Lapland. However, the next day, the snow fell, the temperature increased, only remaining at -5 to -10 degrees Celsius".
In addition, she assessed that the facilities in Finland are quite good and fully equipped. She traveled to 3 accommodations for 5 days and 4 nights in Lapland and every hotel has a heating system.
When we were in Mongolia, we had to sit and watch and burn firewood continuously to keep the room warm. During my trip to Harbin, the days I was there "hit" the coldest temperature of -25 degrees Celsius and then I was imprisoned for nearly 10 days. Therefore, the days in Lapland are quite easy for me, said Ms. Duong.
The weather was not too harsh, the trip in February was not too crowded with tourists, the Vietnamese female tourist was able to enjoy a trip that she wanted.
Because Rovaniemi is known as the official hometown of Santa Claus. Therefore, every Christmas season, many tourists come here to meet Santa Claus,un post office staff as well as participate in other interesting activities such as reindeer riding, skiing with husky, ice and snow...
However, Ms. Duong noted that in winter in Finland, nights are longer than days, and there are even days when the sun does not shine. Therefore, visitors need to take advantage of the time when it is sunny to participate in daytime activities.

Unforgettable unique experience
Every day in Rovaniemi, every day I opened my eyes, I could see the beautiful image of white snow covering the whole place. That unforgettable impression is also the nights of running around "hunting" for the aurora or watching the starry night sky, where bathing in the ice lake and saunches under the romantic snowfall...", Ms. Duong emphasized.
On the first day, when it landed at 5:30 p.m., the sky had just left the night, the female tourist and her group of friends were taken by a local tour guide to "hunt" for the aurora until 4:00 a.m. the next day. However, that night, she returned empty-handed with the achievement of a starry sky.
On the evening of the third day, her group continued to travel from Finland to Sweden to continue "hunting" for the aurora. After more than a few hours of sitting in a car, a few hours of continuing to stand in the middle of the ice lake surrounded by white snow, Ms. Duong finally admired the aurora on this trip.
She said: "That night was really cold, so cold that my fingertips and toes no longer felt anything. Fortunately, Miss Aurora (artery - PV) also appeared at midnight. This sincerity was rewarded with a beautiful performance in the night sky.
The female tourist once saw the aurora in Iceland right on the hill next to the resort. Therefore, in her mind, the aurora must be very easy to see, without spending effort and time.
However, when in Lapland, Ms. Duong concluded that the "hunting" for aurora was not easy, it had to combine many natural factors to create a complete aurora night such as the right night, no bright moon, sun wind watch, from the Earth's magnetic field...
However, the experience that the female tourist enjoyed the most was the first time she took a bath in an ice pack with a temperature of C. Because the Finns believe that sauna combined with ice cream is beneficial for health. Her group rented a small wooden house with a fireplace and a steam room.
"After taking a steam, I ran straight to the ice lake. Here, they only dug a circle on the lake enough to lull themselves down. They say most visitors will be submerged in water for an average of 10 seconds. As for me personally, I can't stand counting 7 seconds. People are so cold, it's like having thousands of ant bites that are very uncomfortable, but when soaking them in a hot bath, it feels extremely refreshing," Ms. Duong recalled.
Every day in Rovaniemi, the female tourist has different moments. This land is truly not only as beautiful as a painting but also brings unique experiences that Ms. Duong will never forget.
