On the morning of November 16, the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) held a training conference on women's work in 2024.
Attending the event were Mr. Lam Thanh Si - Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, Ms. Lu Thi Kim Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor - and more than 1,100 trainees who are full-time officials in the whole province.
The conference was organized in two forms: directly at the provincial Labor Federation office and online at 10 locations at the district, town, and city Labor Federations.
During the one-day conference, trainees were instructed and trained in two basic contents: Women's activities at the grassroots level; policies and regimes for female workers; dialogue skills to represent, care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of female workers; and guidance on the content of the topic "Parenting skills for comprehensive child development".
In the morning, the conference listened to Ms. Tran Thu Phuong - Deputy Head of the Women's Union of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - training on women's union activities at the grassroots level; policies for female workers; dialogue skills to represent, care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of female workers.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Ms. Lu Thi Kim Thuy - Vice President of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor - emphasized: "Through the training conferences, I hope that the team of Women's Union officials will improve the quality of advising the leaders of agencies, units and enterprises to carry out activities to meet the requirements of advocacy work and care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of female workers, civil servants and laborers in the new situation".
Reporting at the conference, Ms. Tran Thu Phuong - Deputy Head of the Women's Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that Vietnam is the country with the highest rate of women participating in the labor force in the world. In recent times, the Party, the State and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor have regularly paid attention to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of this group. Not only have they drafted laws, but they have also regularly issued policies to represent, protect and care for female workers in line with reality... thereby creating a revolution in the role and position of female workers when participating in labor relations.
This not only helps female workers have full rights and obligations of employees and is guaranteed by the state equal rights in all aspects like men... but also shows concern in all aspects of labor relations.
However, due to many reasons, in reality, at times and in places, the rights of female workers are not guaranteed, such as violations of rights in labor relations... Therefore, according to Ms. Phuong, the Trade Union needs to focus on and regularly innovate the content and methods of women's work to improve the situation in accordance with working conditions, qualifications, awareness...
In particular, in addition to regularly perfecting the organization, especially the Women's Union, it is necessary to pay attention to innovating communication work. Typically: gathering relevant legal regulations into clear, concise, easy-to-understand content for public dissemination to workers in general, and female workers in particular. And more importantly, it is necessary to diversify the forms to suit the working conditions of workers, such as: leaflets, brochures, newsletters, radio and television loudspeaker systems, etc. and also union group and group meetings, self-managed workers' dormitories, etc.
