As a student with difficult circumstances, Hoang Hien Hoa (grade 12 at Vung Tau High School) was very happy to participate in the summer camp organized by the Labor Federation of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province on August 20.
Together with 70 other students across the province, they visited Vung Tau City Martyrs' Temple; Visit Bach Dinh relics and Provincial Museum. Born into an imperfect family, Hoa's mother was a street cleaning worker but did her best to send her two children to school. As the oldest brother, Hoa also takes advantage of his time to work part-time to help his mother make ends meet.
Also participating in the summer camp is Dang Truong Kim Ngan (born in 2004), who is studying at university in Ho Chi Minh City. His father passed away early, leaving his mother alone to work and raise three children, along with her now elderly grandmother.
After participating in a number of activities in the summer camp, the Confederation of Labor of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province organized and awarded scholarships to students who are children of laborers who overcame difficulties and studied well, empowering them to strive to excel in their studies. , lighting up the dream of going to school for children of union members and workers.
Nguyen Duc Canh Scholarship brings many practical values
According to Mr. Le Van Hoa - Chairman of the Confederation of Labor of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, implementing the Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship program launched by the General Confederation of Labor of Vietnam, the Trade Unions at all levels in the province have developed many solutions and implemented them. implemented and achieved encouraging results.
In the program, the Provincial Labor Federation organized and awarded 71 long-term Nguyen Duc Canh scholarships to children, with a total value of 265 million VND.
From 2012 up to now, the Provincial Labor Federation has awarded long-term Nguyen Duc Canh scholarships to 187 cases of children of laborers who are studious and overcome difficulties. To date, 92 students have graduated from university and have good jobs, contributing to stabilizing the lives of workers in difficult circumstances in the area.
In addition, to date, there have been 37,141 scholarships worth more than 11.3 billion VND awarded to children of disadvantaged and studious workers.
"The awarded scholarships represent the heart and care of the Trade Union for the children. We hope that the children will overcome difficulties and improve in their studies to help their families and the community. society," Mr. Hoa said.
On this occasion, the Provincial Labor Confederation also received support from the Vietsovpetro Joint Venture Trade Union (Vietnamese and Russian sides) with 200 scholarships worth 200 million VND to support students in difficult circumstances, and is expected to organize awards given to students on the opening day of the new school year.
