On October 5, the Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Federation of Labor organized the 2024 Tug of War for Workers and Civil Servants. This is one of the activities in the 8th "Stockpile for Workers" program - 2024 associated with the launch of the Peak Month to implement the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".
There were 270 amateur athletes participating from 17 Labor Federations of districts, towns, cities, industry unions, Provincial Civil Servants' Union and Provincial Industrial Parks' Union.
The athletes participating are male and female union members who are active in grassroots unions under the labor federations of districts, towns, cities, industry unions, provincial civil servant unions, and provincial industrial park unions. Each unit is allowed to form a team of 16 athletes (including 8 men and 8 women). The competition is in the form of team competition (not including the total weight of the whole team).
Right after the opening ceremony, 270 athletes from 17 teams entered the competition with fierce competition and cheers from a large crowd of fans.
At the end of the competition, the Provincial Education Trade Union Team won the First Prize, the Second Prize went to the Provincial Civil Servants Trade Union. The Organizing Committee awarded 6 third prizes and 9 consolation prizes to the participating teams.
Also within the framework of the program, the Bac Giang Provincial Labor Federation organized the 4th Bac Giang Provincial Sports and Folk Dance Competition for Workers and Civil Servants in 2024.
The competition was attended by more than 400 workers, civil servants and employees from 16 teams from the Labor Federations of districts, towns and cities, industry unions, provincial civil servant unions and provincial industrial park unions. Each participating unit performed 2 folk dance and sports performances with different themes; each performance had a maximum performance time of 4 minutes, with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 30 participants.
At the end of the contest, the organizing committee awarded 2 A prizes; 3 B prizes; 5 C prizes and 7 Encouragement prizes to the excellent teams. In which, the A prize belonged to the entries of the Luc Nam District Labor Federation and the Viet Yen Labor Federation.
In addition, the Bac Giang Provincial Federation of Labor organized a "Flower Arranging Art" contest with the participation of 18 units.
The works "Aspiration to Reach Far" by the Labor Federation of Luc Ngan District and "Vietnam Trade Union always accompanies workers to contribute to building a developed, fair and civilized economy" by the Labor Federation of Lang Giang District excellently won 2 A prizes. The Organizing Committee awarded 3 B prizes; 5 C prizes and 12 Encouragement prizes.
Previously, at the opening ceremony of the 8th "Stock for Workers" program - 2024 associated with the launch of the Peak Month of the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", the Bac Giang Provincial Labor Federation commended 95 typical enterprises for workers and 5 partners who have well implemented the cooperation agreement in the welfare program for union members; allocated funds from the "Union Shelter" Fund and the union's financial resources to support the renovation of houses for 9 union members' families with housing difficulties, damaged by storm No. 3 (total value of 355 million VND); presented gifts to 140 workers in difficult circumstances (valued at 700 thousand VND/gift).
