On May 29, the Can Tho City People's Committee Trade Union coordinated with the City Center for Disease Control to organize a Conference to disseminate legal regulations on occupational safety and hygiene (OSH) - disease prevention in workers, civil servants, and laborers (CNVCLD) and build a smoke-free working environment.
The conference is organized to raise awareness and compliance with the law on OSH for employees and employers through information, propaganda and specific action programs on OSH; promote control of risks, risks and measures to improve working conditions; Health care of workers, limiting labor accidents and occupational diseases; Strengthen the strict implementation of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms in Civil Engineering and Building the smoke -free office environment.
Information to the Conference, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ly, said that over the past time, OSH work has changed positively, awareness and behavior of workers and employers changing significantly. Typically, proactively organizing health checks, screening for occupational diseases for employees, labor protection equipment for workers working in dangerous areas. The trade union also strengthened the organization of training courses and guidelines on OSH, coordinating the authorities to inspect and supervise .... Thereby, significantly improved cases of labor accidents and occupational diseases.
With many important and necessary contents, Vice President of Can Tho City Labor Federation Nguyen Ngoc Tan suggested that reporters filter the main content and share experiences, good and creative ways of doing things to convey at the conference.
