On November 15, the Da Nang City Labor Federation launched the Tour Guide Grassroots Union with 111 members.
This is the result of nearly 2 months of meeting, exchanging and directly lobbying with the Da Nang Tour Guide Association and tour guides.
During this process, the Da Nang City Labor Federation organized 2 propaganda sessions for more than 400 tour guides.
Through many forms of persuasion, mobilization, and direct propaganda for tour guides and the effective support of the Danang Tour Guide Association, 111 workers were initially mobilized to write applications to join the Union.
At the same time, mobilize 5 prestigious and trusted tour guides to participate in the Executive Committee of the grassroots Union.
Mr. Le Van Dai - Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation - said: The entire city of Da Nang has more than 300,000 workers working in the informal sector, of which the tour guide force is more than 3,000 people.
Although in Da Nang, tour guide is a promising profession with a fairly high income. However, there are still many tour guides with unstable income and do not fully enjoy welfare and social security.
They have not been propagandized and disseminated many correct policies and guidelines of the Party, laws of the State, specific policies of the city, especially in the field of tourism in particular and services in general.
Therefore, the Trade Union organization needs to gather, manage, support, help, care for and represent and protect brothers and sisters in trade union organizations.
On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the City Labor Federation supported 5 million VND in initial funding for the Union to facilitate its activities; presented 20 gifts to encourage and support 20 union members to continue to stick with and contribute to their profession.
