Returning 37.5 million VND to the person who dropped it
Pleiku Ward Police said that in the presence of the person who picked up the property, functional forces returned the amount of 37.5 million VND to Mr. N.H. H. (residing in Thong Nhat ward, Gia Lai province).
Previously, at about 0:40 on May 4, while on duty on Nguyen Tat Thanh street, Ms. Duong Thi Anh Hong - an environmental sanitation worker of Gia Lai Urban Works Joint Stock Company picked up a stack of money including many banknotes of 500,000 VND denomination.
Surprised by the large amount of money, Ms. Hong immediately called colleagues to help check, then quickly brought the entire amount of money to Pleiku Ward Police to report, asking for verification and finding the person who lost it.
Ms. Hong shared: "Finding money, I felt worried, afraid that the lost person would be very confused, so I didn't count it, and quickly took it to the police to ask for help to find the owner.
Upon receiving information, Pleiku Ward Police urgently deployed verification and review measures and quickly identified the owner of the money to proceed with returning it.
Receiving the property back, Mr. N.H. H emotionally said: "After finishing work, I was careless and did not zip up my handbag, so I didn't know when the money fell. When I got home and discovered it, I thought it must have been lost. Now that the police have supported me to find it, I am very grateful and appreciate Ms. Hong's gesture.
Life is still full of hardships but always keeps a kind heart
According to Ms. Duong Thi Anh Hong, during her work, she had repeatedly picked up wallets, phones, papers and proactively tried to return them to the person who lost them. This time, due to the large amount of money and the house being far away (near the center of Chu Pah commune), she did not dare to keep them but immediately went to the police station to report.
Recognizing this beautiful action, Pleiku Ward Police completed the procedures to request the Chairman of the Ward People's Committee to award a certificate of merit to Ms. Hong.
Ms. Hong is currently a worker in Hygiene Team 1, and has been attached to the work of beautifying the streets for nearly 10 years.
It is known that her family's circumstances are still difficult. She has 3 young children, the eldest is in 11th grade, the second is in 8th grade, and the youngest is just over 2 years old.
Her husband works as a deliveryman, and the income of both husband and wife is just enough to cover living expenses.
Although life is still full of hardships, that female sanitation worker still keeps a bright heart for herself.
She confided: "I myself work hard, stay up late and wake up early to earn every penny, so I understand the value of money. The person who dropped the property is probably like me, losing such a large amount of money will greatly affect my family. Returning it to them, I feel relieved and very happy.
Beautiful actions like Ms. Duong Thi Anh Hong not only need to be praised and spread, but also contribute to consolidating trust, promoting good values in the community, and building a movement for the whole people to protect national security from the simplest actions.
