On January 9, Mr. Nguyen Van Manh - Chairman of Bao Loc City Labor Federation said that the unit has just organized salary payment for workers of Bao Loc Waste Treatment Plant.
"This is the result after many times the union coordinated and participated in working with related units to collect unpaid wages for workers at the Waste Treatment Plant," said Mr. Nguyen Van Manh.
Friendly Green Environment Joint Stock Company - the operator of Bao Loc Waste Treatment Plant - owes 70 employees salaries from December 2023 to the end of July 2024, an amount of nearly 1.8 billion VND.
At the request of the union and related units, the People's Committee of Bao Loc city has issued a document directing the payment of wages to workers through the City Labor Federation.
The source of money to pay workers' salaries this time is from Bao Loc City People's Committee paying part of the cost of treating domestic solid waste to Friendly Green Environment Joint Stock Company.
The number of workers receiving salary this time is 35 people, the amount is 505 million VND. The person paid the most is 30 million VND, the person paid the least is 1.9 million VND.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Nhat (from Dong Nai) excitedly said that Friendly Green Environment Joint Stock Company owed him 80 million VND in salary and this time he was paid 30 million VND.
According to Mr. Nhat, the workers are very happy and grateful to the leaders of Bao Loc city and the union here. For him, this payment is also enough to temporarily cover the family's long-standing debt.
"I hope that the units will continue to pay attention, direct and support so that the company can pay off our salary debt before this Lunar New Year holiday" - Mr. Nguyen Minh Nhat expressed.
Mr. Nguyen Van Manh emphasized: "The parties must find a common voice to continue maintaining the operation of the Waste Treatment Plant and ensure the rights of the workers working here."
