On January 6, Mr. Nguyen Van Manh - Chairman of the Bao Loc City Labor Federation said that the City People's Committee has just issued a document directing the payment of salary arrears to workers at the Bao Loc Waste Treatment Plant.
According to Mr. Manh, 70 workers here are owed wages from December 2023 to the end of July 2024, an amount of nearly 1.8 billion VND.
Faced with this situation, the unit coordinated and participated with relevant departments to work with the leaders of Friendly Green Environment Joint Stock Company - the operator of Bao Loc Waste Treatment Plant.
The units including: Urban Management Department, Finance - Planning Department, Natural Resources and Environment Department, Bao Loc City Labor Federation and the company's leaders discussed and agreed on a plan to pay the workers' wages.
Propose that Bao Loc City People's Committee pay part of the cost of solid waste treatment to Friendly Green Environment Joint Stock Company through the account of Bao Loc City Labor Federation to pay salary arrears to workers.
The list of unpaid wages for workers prepared by Friendly Green Environment Joint Stock Company is sent to relevant departments and offices as a basis for paying waste treatment costs according to the contract with this company. At the same time, it is sent to the Bao Loc City Labor Federation as a basis for paying wages to workers and supervising the company's payment of wages to workers.
Bao Loc City People's Committee has issued a document agreeing with the proposal of departments, offices and leaders of Friendly Green Environment Joint Stock Company. Along with that, it directs related units to urgently implement.
The Chairman of the Bao Loc City Labor Federation said that the unit had received a list of requests to pay wages to workers from the Friendly Green Environment Joint Stock Company. However, the company had only requested to pay a portion of the unpaid wages of 30 workers, the amount being VND505 million.
“Workers are looking forward to receiving their salaries to cover their living expenses and take care of their families during Tet. We will pay them as soon as we receive this money and continue to monitor the company to pay their salaries, ensuring the rights of workers,” Mr. Nguyen Van Manh affirmed.
