Having been attached to this school for nearly ten years, teacher Hoang Van Ngoc said that in previous years, the road to the school was very difficult, especially during the rainy season. There was no electricity or phone signal. At that time, whenever he wanted to contact his family, the teacher and his colleagues here had to go up a high hill to search for phone signal.
“Now that the roads are more convenient, for the past two school years, Lieng Sronh Primary School has held its opening ceremony right at School 179. Therefore, our teachers and students are very happy and excited to enter the new school year,” said teacher Hoang Van Ngoc excitedly.
Similarly, teacher Ro Ong Ha Tong shared: "I volunteered to teach here from the 2023-2024 school year, right after graduating from the teacher training college. Although we live far away, teachers in remote areas like us are always encouraged and shared by the school leaders and the Trade Union . Life is still difficult, but I am very happy because I can do the job I love" - teacher Ha Tong expressed.
Ms. Bui Thi La - Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training, Vice President of the Labor Federation of Dam Rong district informed that School 179 was established in September 2013. This is the farthest school in the district and still faces many difficulties.
The distance from the main school to this school is nearly 60km of forest road. This only road has to go through the communes of Quang Hoa and Quang Son, Dak Glong district (Dak Nong province).
According to Ms. La, when it was first established, there were only two first-grade classes with 57 students. The students were all children of Mong ethnic minorities who migrated here freely from the northern provinces. This school year, School 179 has 5 classes with 102 students from grades 1 to 5.
“Currently, we can only arrange 3 male teachers to work here. Teaching and living conditions are very difficult due to the remote location and lack of electricity. The teachers here are very dedicated to their profession and responsible for their students,” said Ms. Bui Thi La.
Teacher Nguyen Ngoc Truong, who used to work at the school and was transferred to the main school. This school year, Mr. Truong continues to volunteer to return to the school to teach. According to Mr. Truong, the people hope to soon have a road from the district directly here. There will be electricity to serve daily life and production.
“There is an invisible thread that keeps us here to teach. It is the care and protection of the villagers and the innocent eyes of the children. We want to give letters to the children in the mountains to light up their bright dreams,” said teacher Nguyen Ngoc Truong.
