According to the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Lao Cai province, base 2, the accident occurred at 12:22 pm on February 23, 2026 at Vietnam Gold Phosphorus Co., Ltd., Tang Loong Industrial Park.
The victim is Mr. Vang Van Lam (born 1991), residing in Nam Mon village, Bac Ha commune. Initial information shows that an accident occurred at the phosphorus production furnace area of the company, causing the worker to die.
Immediately after the incident occurred, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks No. 2 reported to the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation, and was directly present at the enterprise to grasp the situation, coordinate with the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board and relevant agencies to implement handling and remedial measures.
In addition, the trade union also met with workers in enterprises to propagate, reassure, and stabilize the ideology of union members after the incident.
On March 14, information from the Trade Union of Vietnam Gold Phosphorus Co., Ltd., the unit has just provided initial support of 390 million VND, including 40 million VND for funeral expenses and 350 million VND for family support, and at the same time implemented regimes according to the provisions of law.
In addition, the 24-hour occupational accident insurance purchased by the enterprise for employees was also paid to the victim's family with an amount of about 75 million VND.
Not only that, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation organized a delegation to visit, pay respects and support 5 million VND from the "Lao Cai Trade Union Social" Fund. The Lao Cai Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee additionally supported 25 million VND for funeral expenses.
The grassroots trade union at the enterprise donated 50 million VND to union members and workers to share difficulties with the victim's family.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Hoang Tuan Hai - Deputy Head of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks at Base 2 said that timely visits and support for workers injured in accidents clearly demonstrate the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members.
The Trade Union always accompanies workers, especially when encountering risks and accidents during work. We continue to coordinate with businesses to monitor the full implementation of regimes and policies, and at the same time strengthen propaganda to raise labor safety awareness among workers," Mr. Hoang Tuan Hai informed.
