More than 600 union members of Quang Binh Economic Zone received support

Quang Binh - In 2024, the Quang Binh Economic Zone Trade Union supported 602 union members and workers in difficult circumstances.

Caring for union members' lives

On December 30, the Economic Zone Trade Union (EZTU) of Quang Binh province held an extended Executive Committee meeting to deploy union work tasks in 2025.

Chairman of Quang Binh Economic Zone Trade Union Tu Ngoc Thinh said that currently, the Economic Zone Trade Union is directly managing 28 grassroots trade unions with 3,378 employees (of which 2,882 employees participate in social insurance), and 3,025 union members (accounting for 89.55%).

The quality of workers and civil servants in industrial parks and economic zones is increasingly developing, with a sense of self-reliance, dynamism and creativity; young workers and civil servants continue to be trained and fostered in professional expertise and skills, quickly accessing science, the rate of trained workers is over 50%.

However, there is still a group of untrained workers with limited professional qualifications, skills, awareness of labor discipline and working style.

Last year, the KKT Trade Union directly provided 4 consultation sessions at 6 enterprises on Social Insurance Law, Labor Law, Trade Union Law, and Vietnam Trade Union Charter to 350 people including business owners, trade union officials and employees.

The rate of workers with labor contracts is 96%. Sickness, maternity, work accident, and medical treatment benefits under health insurance are paid in full and on time.

Right from the beginning of the year, the KKT Trade Union directed the grassroots trade unions to review and make a list of union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances who needed support. During the year, support was provided to 602 union members and workers in difficult circumstances with a total value of 432.93 million VND in cash and more than 450 gifts with an amount of over 135 million VND.

Improve professional skills

In 2025, the Economic Zone Trade Union strives to establish 6 non-state trade unions with 330 or more members, and admit 200 new members in trade unions that already have a trade union organization; each trade union (where there is a Party grassroots organization with resources) introduces at least 1 outstanding trade union member to the Party organization for training and admission.

Over 80% of union members and workers have studied the Party's resolutions and directives, the State's and trade union's legal policies, such as: Labor Code, Trade Union Law, Social Insurance, Health Insurance, Unemployment Insurance... Mobilizing over 45% of union members and workers to study to improve their qualifications, professional skills, and vocational skills.

100% of grassroots trade unions (with Inspection Committees) organized financial inspections at the same level on schedule; the Economic Zone Trade Union organized financial inspections at 6 grassroots trade unions of non-state enterprises; inspected compliance with the Trade Union Charter at 5 grassroots trade unions.

80% or more of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers enjoy and participate in cultural, artistic, physical education, and sports activities, and 80% of agencies, units, and enterprises meet cultural standards.

Perform well the task of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees, especially the issues of unpaid wages and social insurance of union members and employees; implement solutions to improve the effectiveness of dialogue and collective bargaining.
