Storm No. 3 caused serious damage in Quang Ninh, including widespread power outages, water shortages and communication disruptions.
According to incomplete statistics, 20,245 houses had their roofs blown off; 21 water transport vehicles, 23 tourist boats and 41 fishing boats sank or drifted; 1,403 electric poles were broken and about 70% of urban trees were damaged, mainly in large cities such as Ha Long, Cam Pha, and Quang Yen. The storm also damaged 2 power stations, 3 telecommunication stations, many broadcasting towers and many other public works such as schools, high-rise buildings and agency headquarters.
To quickly restore normal life after the storm, electricity, water and sanitation workers have had to work tirelessly over the past several days. Thanks to these efforts, electricity and water have been restored, helping people gradually stabilize their lives.
The delegation of the Quang Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor visited and presented gifts to workers and employees at 3 units: Hoanh Bo Water Enterprise (Quang Ninh Clean Water Joint Stock Company), Quang Ninh Urban Environment Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (Judenco) and Cam Pha Electricity (Quang Ninh Electricity Company).
At the places visited, Mr. To Xuan Thao - Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor - acknowledged and praised the outstanding efforts of cadres, workers, and laborers in quickly overcoming the consequences caused by storm No. 3, contributing to the restoration of grid power and clean water supply and ensuring environmental sanitation.
The Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor hopes that cadres and workers will continue to ensure their health and safety to maintain work progress, and together with the unit, complete the goal of overcoming incidents caused by the storm in the shortest time, while helping to stabilize production - business activities and people's lives.
The Provincial Federation of Labor also requested that grassroots unions pay close attention and promptly support workers and laborers in difficult circumstances affected by storm No. 3.
The delegation presented each unit with a gift of 10 million VND in cash and 20 boxes of mineral water.
During the working trip, the Quang Ninh Construction Trade Union also donated 3 million VND to encourage workers who are dealing with the water outage at the Hoanh Bo Water Plant (Quang Ninh Clean Water Joint Stock Company).
