On the morning of October 28, the Dong Ha Ward Trade Union Congress (Quang Tri Province) took place in Dong Ha Ward.
Currently, Dong Ha Ward Trade Union manages 54 grassroots trade unions with 1,505 union members, including 681 female and 291 party members; the grassroots sector includes public service units, state-owned enterprises and mainly non-state enterprises.
The rate of signing labor contracts and participating in social insurance is about 95%, the average income of union members and workers in the area is about 6.5 million VND per month. In addition to positive results, many small businesses are facing market difficulties, a part of workers have reduced jobs, unstable income, and urgent requirements to strengthen protection and protection.
On July 28, 2025, the Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor decided to establish the Dong Ha Ward Trade Union. Previously, Dong Ha ward was formed on the basis of merging Wards 1, 3, 4, Dong Giang, Dong Thanh of the old Dong Ha city.
Having just been established, the Ward Trade Union Executive Committee has soon improved its organization, issued working regulations, assigned clear tasks, closely following the direction of the Provincial Federation of Labor and the Ward Party Committee to move towards the grassroots.
At the congress, the 2025-2030 term target was set, including developing new members from 300 to 400 union members, establishing 5 to 7 grassroots unions; 95% of enterprises with unions and 10 or more employees negotiating and signing agreements; 100% of grassroots union officials were trained in their professional skills.
The focus of action is to increase salaries, ensure jobs, improve shift meals and working conditions; strengthen supervision of the implementation of social insurance, health insurance, occupational safety and hygiene; build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
The ward union will guide the systematic dialogue process, support negotiation of agreements, promote free legal consultation, and establish a channel to receive quick feedback to protect rights when disputes arise.
In parallel with the task of protecting, propaganda and education work continues to innovate, promote the application of digital technology and social networks to disseminate the Party's guidelines and legal policies directly related to workers, contributing to strengthening trust and improving legal knowledge for union members.
The emulation movement "Good workers, Creative workers", "Good advice, good service", "Green, clean, beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene" is flexibly applied according to the characteristics of each facility, focusing on honoring typical examples from direct labor. Women's work continues to take practical care, ensure the rights of female workers, build a safe and equal working environment, and maintain the happiness of union members' families.
With a consolidated organizational foundation and a determination to innovate the method of operation, Dong Ha Ward Labor Union aims to complete the set targets, affirming its role as a reliable support for workers, accompanying the government and the business community to build Dong Ha Ward to develop green, smart, and modern in the period of 2025-2030.
At the congress, the decision to appoint him to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Inspection Committee and hold the position of Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Chairman of the Inspection Committee of Dong Ha Ward Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term was announced.
