On March 24, the Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation said that it had deployed scientific and technological tasks to enhance the role of trade union organizations in implementing collective labor agreements.
Collective labor agreements (TƯLĐTT) are agreements between employers and the collective of employees (NLĐ) on the rights and obligations of the parties. In the context of international integration, trade unions play an increasingly important role in dialogue and collective bargaining.
Mr. Luong Phu Cuong, Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Head of the Trade Union Affairs Committee, task secretary, said that the goal of the task is to clarify the position, role, and function of the trade union. Through this, propose solutions to improve the effectiveness of implementing collective labor agreements at enterprises.
From September 2024 - February 2026, the research group focuses on clarifying the theoretical basis, impact factors and assessing the current situation of trade union activities in the period 2021 - 2024.
The results show that the implementation of labor law at enterprises has changed. Trade unions participate in building grassroots democracy regulations, organizing dialogues, negotiations and signing collective labor agreements.
However, there are still limitations. The labor law system is still inadequate. The implementation of democracy regulations at the workplace is not uniform. The participation of employees and grassroots trade unions in dialogue and negotiation is still limited, especially in private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises.
On that basis, the task is to propose key solutions such as perfecting mechanisms and policies; improving the capacity of trade union officials; promoting digital transformation in dialogue and negotiation.
At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen propaganda and raise awareness among employers and employees. The role of state management also needs to be promoted more effectively.
The task is to contribute to enhancing the role of trade unions in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, and at the same time supporting sustainable business development.
