Supporting workers after fire in industrial park in Thai Nguyen

Thai Nguyen - The fire at Wiha Company's factory in Song Cong Industrial Park burned down all the machinery, causing hundreds of workers to lose their jobs.

On December 13, Mr. Doan Manh Thang - Vice President of Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation said that Song Cong City Labor Federation had just organized a meeting to share, support and consult on job referrals for workers who had to quit their jobs due to the fire at Wiha Vietnam Co., Ltd.

At the meeting, leaders of Thai Nguyen Provincial Federation of Labor, leaders of Song Cong City, and trade unions at all levels shared, encouraged, and provided support to 113 laid-off workers with an amount of VND 1,500,000/person from the Provincial Federation of Labor.

The Song Cong City Labor Federation has also introduced the job needs of 6 businesses for workers to learn about and apply for. In the coming time, unions at all levels will continue to implement plans to care for and support workers who have to stop waiting for work or have to postpone work.

Trade unions at all levels believe that the leaders of Wiha Vietnam Co., Ltd. and all employees will promote the spirit of solidarity, rebuild production activities, and soon stabilize the lives of employees.

Previously, on November 8, a fire broke out at the Wiha Company Limited factory, destroying all machinery and equipment. The fire caused more than 300 people to stop working or have no regular jobs; 113 people had their labor contracts terminated.
