Thai Nguyen province currently has over 156,570 trade union members operating in 547 grassroots trade unions. Of which, 495 are grassroots trade unions of non-state enterprises (accounting for 90.5%).
In the period 2023 - 2025 and the first 5 months of 2026, Thai Nguyen established 191 new grassroots trade unions with 45,251 trade union members. In the first 5 months of 2026 alone, the whole province has established 40 new grassroots trade unions, developing over 7,734 union members.

The above positive figures not only reflect work results, but also show the workers' trust in the trade union organization.
Towards the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031, trade union levels in Thai Nguyen province are competing to achieve achievements with specific and practical actions.
In particular, in industrial parks - places with a large concentration of workers, the work of developing trade union organizations continues to achieve positive results.
Specifically, businesses in industrial parks have newly established 14 grassroots trade unions with 903 union members.
The above results were achieved because trade unions at all levels in Thai Nguyen strongly innovated their approach to businesses and workers.
In particular, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation has proactively developed a program to coordinate with relevant agencies to review businesses that meet the conditions for establishing trade unions. At the same time, classify businesses by labor scale to develop appropriate propaganda and mobilization plans.
Many effective operating models have been implemented such as: Self-managed worker groups in boarding houses, Legal advice, Union member welfare, Trade Union meals, Tet Sum vay, Workers' Month, free health check-ups for union members...
These activities have created positive spillover effects among union members and workers.
According to Ms. Do Thi Hien - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairwoman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation, the reality in the locality shows that wherever the trade union organization truly cares for, protects and accompanies workers, there union members develop strongly, grassroots trade unions operate effectively and labor relations are stable.
Conversely, if the trade union is slow to innovate and deviates from the practical needs of workers, it will be difficult to attract union members in the current context of competition and integration.
The task of developing union members in the coming period needs to strongly shift from developing in quantity to improving quality and sustainability. Building grassroots trade unions to truly be representative organizations, caring for and protecting the rights of workers, creating trust and attachment of union members to the trade union organization.

With the determination to comprehensively innovate, trade union levels in Thai Nguyen province continue to strive to effectively implement the task of developing union members and building strong trade union organizations. From there, contributing to building a modern and strong working class and making positive contributions to the rapid and sustainable development of Thai Nguyen province as well as the whole country.
Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union also determined to continue to improve the quality of periodic dialogues, standardize collective labor agreements, and supervise the implementation of commitments. Focus on key contents such as salaries, meals, rest time, social insurance, occupational safety and health, and employee welfare.
Along with that, it will promote the development of long-term welfare, linking cultural institutions, worker housing and essential services right in industrial parks. Strengthen labor law supervision, improve occupational safety and health standards, reduce the risk of occupational diseases and build a safety culture in enterprises.
Continue to strengthen the connection between businesses - authorities - trade union organizations to form a progressive labor environment, respecting and putting workers at the center.
