Innovation is the "golden key" to help the country realize its aspirations of strength.

Growth momentum, bringing the country into a new era

At the National Conference on Breakthroughs in Science and Technology Development, Innovation and National Digital Transformation, General Secretary To Lam delivered a speech emphasizing the role of science and technology.

According to General Secretary To Lam, with the goal of becoming a modern industrialized country by 2030 and a developed, high-income country by 2045, we must consider science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as key driving forces. This is the “golden key”, the vital factor to overcome the middle-income trap and the risk of falling behind, while realizing the aspiration of our nation to become strong and prosperous.

However, scientific and technological development and digital transformation are only “important means” to achieve the goal. Breakthroughs and innovations are the magical factors to create miracles, because breakthroughs and innovations create revolutionary breakthroughs, overcome current barriers and limitations to achieve outstanding and outstanding results.

In fact, in recent years, innovation in Vietnam has been clearly demonstrated with the Government constantly promoting policies to encourage research, technology development and innovation.

One of the typical examples of Vietnam's innovation is the strong development of the startup community. Vietnam has become one of the attractive destinations for foreign investors in the field of information technology and startups.

Many Vietnamese startups have made their mark on the global startup map, creating innovative products and services, bringing value to consumers and creating jobs for millions of workers.

Notably, in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2024 Report, Vietnam is ranked 44/133 countries and economies, up 2 places compared to 2023.

Speaking with Lao Dong, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang - an economic expert, assessed that the increase of 2 levels in the GII index is convincing evidence for the orientation of shifting the growth model towards taking innovation as the foundation.

“The country's potential and capacity for innovation are being promoted, the institution to protect and encourage innovation is moving in the right direction, capable of creating breakthroughs in innovation in the next phase” - Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang assessed.

Businesses need to quickly join the "game" of innovation and creativity.

In the era of digitalization and rapid technological development, innovation is not only an option but has become an essential requirement for businesses.

Faced with challenges and opportunities from the global market, businesses need to quickly join the innovation game to maintain and increase competitiveness.

Talking to Lao Dong, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang - an economic expert said that the country will develop only when businesses truly strive. Businesses are the direct force of innovation, need to be proactive, positive and determined to innovate their business models.

“Enterprises need to increase investment in research, development and innovation of products and services. They also need to connect closely with domestic and foreign partners to maintain stable operations and learn from innovation experiences. At the same time, there needs to be a mechanism to encourage innovation and policies to attract and develop talent in this field.

"Make full use of innovation support policies to promote real, effective, and long-term business innovation. Build a culture of innovation, accept high risks in innovation and creativity to both create an important spiritual foundation for innovation and promote the endogenous capacity of cultural values of innovation to create a driving force for comprehensive innovation. Expand the scale of added value and effectively transform innovative ideas into commercial benefits through effective innovation models and processes" - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang emphasized.
