Accordingly, implementing the coordination program, the Hanoi Women's Union, the Hanoi Transport Trade Union, and the Hanoi Oncology Hospital organized communication and consultation on early detection of breast cancer and cervical cancer in 2024 for 400 female union members of the Hanoi Transport Trade Union.
Ms. Ta Thi My Thanh - Chairwoman of the Hanoi Transport Trade Union said that the coordination of organizing early detection of breast cancer and cervical cancer among female union members is a practical activity. Because breast cancer and cervical cancer are diseases with the highest risk of death for women, but the cure rate is up to 90% if detected early, treated promptly and with the right method.
To carry out activities in depth, the Hanoi Transport Trade Union requested that the grassroots Trade Union implement activities that integrate propaganda on breast and cervical cancer prevention and control in thematic activities.
Implementing Plan No. 124/KH-UBND on screening for early detection of breast cancer and cervical cancer for women in Hanoi in the period of 2022 - 2025, the Hanoi Women's Union actively coordinated with the Hanoi Oncology Hospital and grassroots health care to carry out communication and knowledge consulting activities in 18 districts and 5 industry unions, including: Hanoi Construction Industry Union, Hanoi Transport Industry Union, Hanoi Education Industry Union, City Civil Servants Union, Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones Union.
