Pursuant to the official dispatch dated October 16, 2024 of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund (XHTT) on coordinating the implementation of support to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and floods in 2024 in Yen Bai, the Yen Bai Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund to present 100 million VND to support damage recovery work at the People's Committee of Bao Dap commune, Tran Yen district.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Bao Dap Commune Tran Duc Tien said that storm No. 3 left heavy damage to local people and facilities at the Committee.
"During storm No. 3, the Committee headquarters was flooded more than 2m deep. Currently, the desk system, computers, printers on the first floor, the fan power system as well as the audio and electronic equipment in the hall are severely damaged. In difficult times, this support is not only a source of material encouragement, but also a valuable spiritual sharing, giving us more strength to overcome challenges," informed the Chairman of Bao Dap commune.
According to Vice President of Yen Bai Provincial Labor Federation Ngo Hong Hanh, the recent storm and flood caused serious damage to the locality.
"With support from all levels of unions, we hope to contribute to sharing difficulties, and for localities and units to quickly overcome the damage," the Vice President of the Yen Bai Provincial Federation of Labor emphasized.
On the same day, the delegation presented 100 million VND to Yen Ninh Primary School, Yen Ninh Ward, Yen Bai City for repair and restoration after the flood.
Representatives of Yen Ninh Primary School expressed their gratitude for the timely attention from the Provincial Federation of Labor, and committed to using the support funds for the right purposes to quickly stabilize teaching and learning conditions.
"This support is not only a source of material encouragement but also demonstrates the solidarity and responsibility of the trade union organization towards the community, especially in difficult times," said a representative of Yen Ninh Primary School.
According to statistics in Bao Dap commune, the whole commune has 432 households whose housing is seriously affected, of which 7 households were severely damaged and had to relocate or rebuild their houses.
Production activities of more than 1,300 households were severely damaged, including sericulture, rice, livestock, aquaculture and forestry.
The commune People's Committee was deeply flooded, causing damage to equipment such as desks, computers, printers, and the sound system used for administrative work.
