According to information from the Ministry of Home Affairs, this agency has just coordinated with a Canadian partner to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation on ethical labor migration and protection of migrant workers for Vietnamese workers working in Saskatchewan, Canada.
The Memorandum of Understanding identifies the employee as the center of the cooperation agreement, as a priority object of protection. In which, Vietnamese workers are guaranteed the principle of equal treatment in labor relations, are entitled to salaries, working conditions and welfare regimes according to the provisions of law of Saskatchewan and Canada.
According to the agreement, Vietnamese workers going to work in Saskatchewan do not have to pay recruitment costs, administrative costs, service fees for Vietnamese service businesses and air tickets from Vietnam to work. These costs are paid by employers in Saskatchewan. Workers only have to pay costs related to personal records and visa application fees.
Therefore, the cost of Vietnamese workers before going to work in Saskatchewan is very low. This is an important basis to promote fair, transparent, ethical recruitment and protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, Saskatchewan currently needs to receive about 30,000 technical workers in fields such as construction, mechanics, mining, electronics, hotels, restaurants, high-tech agriculture and some other industries and occupations.
Saskatchewan also expressed its goodwill to cooperate in vocational training and foreign languages for Vietnamese workers before leaving the country, in accordance with the requirements for qualifications and vocational skills recognized by Canada and the needs of receiving businesses.
