On February 8th, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Van Thanh has just signed and issued a document requesting to strengthen management and compliance with the law on occupational safety and health (OSH) in the province.
The document was issued to implement Official Dispatch No. 61/BNV-CVL dated January 5, 2026 of the Ministry of Home Affairs, requesting departments, agencies, and branches at the provincial level; People's Committees of communes and wards; together with units, businesses, production and business establishments to strictly implement regulations on OSH, limit occupational accidents and diseases, especially in high-risk areas.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, departments, agencies, branches and grassroots authorities must thoroughly grasp and fully implement the goals, tasks, and solutions on OSH according to resolutions, directives, and plans that have been issued; include OSH content in the annual work program, inspection and supervision plans. Propaganda and dissemination of laws on OSH need to be promoted in a practical, easy-to-understand, easy-to-apply direction, focusing on groups of workers who do not work under contract and industries with many potential risks.
The Provincial People's Committee requests to strengthen inter-sectoral and specialized inspections on OSH at high-risk establishments, focusing on safety training, safe working measures, equipping personal protective equipment, safety technical inspection and labor environment monitoring. The province emphasizes not to let the situation of chasing schedules, overtime, and increasing productivity but underestimating labor safety occur.
For violations, especially acts that pose a risk of causing serious labor accidents, functional agencies must promptly detect, rectify and strictly handle them. The declaration, statistics, and investigation of labor accidents must be fully and correctly implemented and reported to the Department of Home Affairs.
On the side of enterprises and production and business establishments, the Provincial People's Committee requests to review and identify risks, assess risks; develop and fully implement measures to prevent labor accidents and occupational diseases; not organize production and construction when safety conditions are not ensured. Enterprises must strictly implement occupational safety and health training, inspect machinery and equipment with strict requirements, take care of workers' health, monitor the working environment and reporting regimes according to regulations.
The Department of Home Affairs is assigned to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches, and localities to monitor, urge, and inspect the implementation; summarize the situation and results and report to the Provincial People's Committee according to regulations. The Provincial People's Committee requests agencies, units, localities and businesses to strictly implement the mentioned contents; promptly report when problems arise for consideration and resolution.
