The North is about to welcome cold air causing continuous thunderstorms
The North has experienced a series of long sunny days, with rain only appearing locally in the midlands and northern mountainous areas. Although it is the end of October, the temperature in the North is still high, the weather is hot.
According to Mr. Vu Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of Division Weather Forecast, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, observation data shows that around the afternoon of October 19, there will be a cold air mass strengthening. The nature of this cold air mass is to shift to the east, so it will not have a big impact on the weather on land. However, the Northeast monsoon will cause strong winds in the sea areas in the northern part of the North East Sea. The wind can strengthen to level 6, gusting to level 7 to level 8.

A district has only 2/5 of its large bridges intact.
Tam Nong District, Phu Tho Province is surrounded by 3 rivers: Da River, Red River and Bua River. Crossing the 3 rivers mentioned above, connecting to this district are 5 large bridges: Trung Ha Bridge, Phong Chau Bridge, Ngoc Thap Bridge, Tu My Bridge and Song Bua Bridge.
However, since Phong Chau bridge collapsed, Trung Ha bridge across Da river connecting to Ba Vi district, Hanoi city and Tu My bridge across Bua river connecting to Cam Khe district, Phu Tho province have limited vehicles due to damage. In Tam Nong district, only Ngoc Thap bridge and Song Bua bridge are still intact.

Mr. Bui Van Tham - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ben Tre province - said that according to the assessment of the Ben Tre Provincial Hydrometeorological Station on the situation of natural disasters that may occur in the area, this province is likely to be affected by saltwater intrusion. The deepest salinity line in the 2024-2025 dry season is likely to be low and less deep than the 2023-2024 dry season, equivalent to the 2022-2023 dry season.
The deepest salinity intrusion occurs in February - March 2025 (Dai, Ba Lai and Co Chien rivers in February - March; Ham Luong river in March). Salinity of 4.0‰ penetrates about 44 - 58km from the river mouth, salinity of 1.0‰ penetrates about 53 - 72km from the river mouth.
