The largest largest freshwater lake in Hai Phong
Since Typhoon Yagi in 2024, pearl -water reservoir (Hai Phong) has been eroded, degraded, affecting the supply of daily -life water for Cat Ba Island.

The lake has a capacity of 298,000 m3, the lake is 5 m high, the bottom of the lake is made of concrete, the bottom has a black sand, the roof of the lake with a precast concrete sheet M200, below is 2 layers of geotextile and waterproofing membrane. The project has been temporarily handed over and put into use since 2021.
Reported by reporters, current and embankments of freshwater lake seriously degraded, many landslides affecting the quality of the project, losing beauty when the pearl lake is located on the coastal road from Cai Vien ferry to the center of Cat Ba tourist area.
