Bonus level for soldiers awarded the Deciding Military Flag Medal

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Clause 2, Article 54 of the 2022 Law on Emulation and Commendation stipulates that Medals include:

a) The Victory Flag Medal;

b) "Medicine for National Security";

c) "Great Soldier Medal" First, Second, Third Class;

d) Friendship Medal.

Article 55 of the Law on Emulation and Commendation 2022 stipulates that the "Golden Medal of the Military Exploit" is awarded or posthumously awarded to soldiers, workers, civil servants, and defense officials of the People's Army who have worked continuously for 25 years or more and have successfully completed their assigned tasks.

Article 55 of Decree 152/2025/ND-CP (effective from July 1, 2025) stipulates the level of Medal bonuses as follows: Individuals awarded or posthumously awarded Medals are specified in Clause 2, Article 54 of the Law on Emulation and Commendation, are awarded a Certificate, frame, Medal, Medal container and are awarded 1.5 times the basic salary.

According to Decree 73/2024/ND-CP, the current basic salary is 2,340,000 VND/month.

Thus, from July 1, 2025, if a soldier is awarded the Decided Military Flag Medal, he/she will be awarded VND 3,510,000 (VND 2,340,000 x 1.5) according to the above regulations.
