On March 11, the International Women's Volleyball Federation (FIVB) officially issued the competition schedule of the 32 teams participating in the 2025 Women's World Volleyball Championship. 31 teams have won tickets with host Thailand divided into 8 groups (each group has 4 teams).
The Vietnam women's volleyball team is in Group G with Poland, Germany, and Kenya. Group A includes Thailand, the Netherlands, Sweden, Egypt. Group B includes Italy, Belgium, Cuba, Slovakia. Group C includes Brazil, Puerto Rico, France, Greece. Group D includes the US, Czech Republic, Argentina, Slovenia. Group E includes Turkey, Canada, Bulgaria, Spain. Group F includes China, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Mexico. Group H includes Japan, Serbia, Ukraine, Cameroon.
This year's tournament started on August 22, held at 4 locations including Bangkok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Phuket, Chiang Mai. The group stage of the Vietnam team will take place in Phuket.

According to the schedule, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will take the lead in the match against Poland (20:30 on August 23, local time), then take turns against Germany (17:00 on August 25, local time) and Kenya (17:00 on August 27, local time).
After FIVB increased the number of teams participating in the World Championship from 24 to 32, the Vietnam women's volleyball team has a place as the representative of Asia hosted by Thailand and a direct spot. This is a worthy achievement for the efforts of coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team in 2023 and 2024.
According to regulations, the top two teams in the groups after the group stage will participate in the knockout round, taking place from August 29 to September 1. The two leading teams in Group G will meet the two leading teams in Group B.
After this round, the quarter-finals of the tournament will take place from September 3 to September 4. The semi-finals will take place on September 6 and the final match will take place on September 7 with the third-place match.
