The first leg of the SEA V.League 2026 Women's Volleyball Tournament takes place from July 31 to August 2 at Dong Anh Gymnasium (Hanoi), with the participation of 4 national teams including Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia. The teams compete in a round-robin format to determine the champion.
The Vietnamese women's team entered the tournament with home advantage and the goal of competing for the championship. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team will open with a confrontation with the Philippines at 7:00 PM on July 31. This is considered an opportunity for Thanh Thuy and her teammates to aim for their first victory before entering more difficult matches.
In the second match taking place on August 1st, the Vietnamese team will also face Indonesia at 7:00 PM. Indonesia has always been a physically strong opponent with many advances in recent years, promising to bring significant challenges to the home team.
The highlight of the leg will be the match between Vietnam and Thailand at 7:00 PM on February 2. 8. The two teams have always been fiercely competing in Southeast Asia for many years. Notably, the Vietnamese team once defeated Thailand to win the 2nd leg of SEA V.League 2025 and is aiming to repeat this result right at home.
In the list of 14 athletes, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy continues to be the leader in attack after an impressive performance at AVC Cup 2026. In addition, the team also owns many experienced faces such as Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Le Thanh Thuy, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh and Vo Thi Kim Thoa.
