The history of the Vietnam Farmers' Union originates from the first Conference of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party in October 1930 when it decided to establish the Indochina Agricultural Corporation, the first name of the current Vietnam Farmers' Union.
Under the wise leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnam Farmers' Union has become the political core of the farming class, united and gathered a large number of farmers, creating a strong force.

After 95 years of establishment and growth, the Vietnam Farmers' Union has always been a large political force, loyal to the Party, attached to the people, a solid support for the peasantry and the great national unity bloc. The Vietnam Farmers' Association has proactively advised and proposed to the Party and State many important policies, guidelines and guidelines to develop agriculture, build a farming class and build new rural areas. Farmers' patriotic emulation movements have created a strong influence, especially the movement of "good solidarity helps each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably".
More than 6.5 million farming households nationwide have played a leading role, bringing Vietnam's agriculture to gradually develop towards ecology, circular development, and the application of high technology. Agriculture continues to promote its supporting role in the economy and national food security. The efforts of farmers and the Vietnam Farmers' Association have contributed to the current foundation, potential, position and international prestige, emphasized comrade Do Van Chien.

In the context of the country entering a new era, building a prosperous, civilized and happy country, comrade Do Van Chien suggested that all levels of the Vietnam Farmers' Association and farmers' classes across the country unite to compete, effectively implementing 5 strategic contents:
First, build a strong and comprehensive association and focus on the grassroots with the motto: "Where there are farmers, where farmers need them, there are farming households".
Second, innovate patriotic emulation movements. Movements need to be effective and linked to political tasks.
Third, promote propaganda, raise awareness and qualifications of farmer association members. Focus on fostering knowledge of the collective economy, safe agricultural and food trade, digital transformation, international integration and market connection.
Fourth, strengthen the role of social supervision and criticism. The Association needs to expand democracy, pay attention to listening to farmers' aspirations, promptly reflect and propose to the Party and the State.
Fifth, grasp the situation and improve the quality of Association staff. The Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union must grasp the results of the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus and activities of people at all levels, especially at the commune level.
